2025 NEXUS Demo Day
On June 10th, 2025, graduates of the University of Helsinki Incubators’ NEXUS program, which focuses on Deep Tech and AI, came together to celebrate their achievements. After several months of intensive mentorship, validation, and networking, the program wrapped up with a final event where just seven standout teams were selected to pitch their ventures on stage.
We at Polar Orbital were proud to be among those seven teams. Taking the stage to share our progress was a meaningful milestone, and the event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with investors and the broader startup community as we close this chapter and look ahead to what’s next.

The BODYGUARD Project
Polar Orbital is participating in the European Defence Fund (EDF) initiative BODYGUARD project that kicked off in December 2024.
Backed by €6.48 million from the EDF, the BODYGUARD consortium consists of 12 partner companies from 8 European countries. The project aims at strengthening European sovereignty and strategic autonomy by protecting space-based assets with situational awareness capabilities and counteraction technologies onboard satellites.
With the growth of space technologies and risks, protecting critical European space assets is more crucial than ever. The BODYGUARD project develops ground-breaking building blocks that enable satellites to detect, assess, and counteract threats in real time to enhance European independence and superiority in space.
